A single family raised bungalow at approximately 5000 sqft located in Strathmore, Alberta.  The intent is to create a healthy home with naturally sourced energy for daily use.  The envelope or exterior of the building will feature a highly insulated and airtight wall assembly.   The main floor is comprised of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living, dining space as well as a 'sunroom'  The lower floor contains two bedrooms, bathroom, bar area, living room and utility storage room.  The solar thermal in floor radiant heating system will provide heating for the space and solar photovoltaic's will provide power for household appliances.  The air will be replenished via a heat recovery ventilator and the use of low VOC materials will keep the air fresh and clean.  Appliances and fixtures are highly efficient,  from Energy Star rated appliances, low flush water toilets to LED lighting.
